MISSION:
Outdoor Independence Training Centers has a twofold mission: (1) to provide greater access to adaptive outdoor recreation for persons all ages with disabilities (physical and/or developmental, chronic medical diagnoses, chronic illnesses, and other special health needs who participate in adaptive outdoor sports (snow sports, water sports, and wilderness sports) and (2) to develop innovative instructional programs, special camps, and other educational/therapeutic support services.
Our staff has extensive experience and takes great pride in developing and providing a variety of adaptive outdoor programs such as: backpacking, sailing, fishing, camping, canoeing, kayaking, rock climbing, challenge courses, alpine and nordic (cross county) skiing, and snow shoeing. In addition to providing specialty instructional programs and camps, our staff have the expertise to guide and help clients as they make important decisions regarding safety, and adaptive equipment (assistive technology, rehabilitation engineering) for outdoor sports and recreation.
