GENERAL INFORMATION
Our staff will work with you to determine which type of course/instructional program (private, semi-private, or group) is most suitable for you. We offer a wide variety of programs and special camps and we can custom design services to meet your needs.
It is our belief that a healthy family life may help contribute to the success of our participants. Therefore, for some of our programs, this has lead us to encourage one or both parents, siblings or a spouse join their adapted skier's program prior to the end of an instructional program. This way, the adaptive outdoor participant (snow sports, water sports, wilderness sports) then has the opportunity to teach and share with you (with the guidance from our staff) the skills learned throughout the instructional program which they attended. We have found this to be an incredibly enriching experience for all members of the family. We would like to discuss this option with all interested family members to ensure that we maximize the positive experience for all.
Tuition and Other Expenses
Please refer to our course schedule and specific brochures for the cost of OITC programs. Tuition for most OITC instructional courses is calculated on a daily rate. The tuition includes instruction, lift ticket, ski rental equipment and any adaptive equipment/ assistive technology which may be necessary in order for the individual to ski at his/her optimal level of independence.
An equipment deposit is required. The deposit covers the student's projected equipment rentals (skis, boots, poles, and any adaptive equipment which may be necessary). Your actual cost could be more or less than this depending on how much equipment you already have and how much you choose to purchase.
Other expenses which vary with each individual and are not included with the tuition include: transportation to and from the course location, spending money for before and after course expenses (ground transportation, food, emergencies, etc.)
Although we rarely need to do so, we reserve the right to cancel a course and change a course duration, tuition, or location. OITC is not responsible for costs associated in these cases. We recommend that you consider refundable air-plane tickets and trip insurance.
SCHOLARSHIPS
To be considered, students must be enrolled for a course and file a scholarship application and supporting materials one month prior to the scheduled course date.
OITC offers scholarships to students who show potential to forward the school's mission and who would be unable to attend a course without financial assistance. No one has ever been denied the opportunity to participate in any of our programs due to financial limitations. Please call for a scholarship application.
